In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora has announced his candidacy for the Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Worli seat, challenging Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray. Deora, a Rajya Sabha MP and three-time MP from South Mumbai, is backed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Deora expressed his commitment to justice for Worli residents, stating, “It’s Worli NOW!”

Aaditya Thackeray, confident of public support, has also filed his nomination for the Worli constituency. He believes the people will bless him as the atmosphere is positive. The elections are set for November 20, with results on November 23.

The political landscape is charged, with the ruling Mahayuti alliance, including the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, facing off against the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress. In the previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena secured significant victories.

Additionally, Sandeep Deshpande of the MNS is also contesting from Worli, adding to the competition. The upcoming elections will determine the political future of Maharashtra.
