Mihir Shah Arrested in Mumbai Hit-and-Run Case

Mihir Shah, the main accused in the Worli hit-and-run case, has been sent to police custody until July 16. Shah was arrested from Virar and brought to Sewri court in Mumbai. He had been absconding after allegedly hitting a scooter on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli, resulting in the death of a woman.

Details of the Incident

The victim’s husband, Pradeep Nakhwa, recounted the tragic event, stating that they were returning home on their scooter when a high-speed car hit them. Nakhwa claimed that Shah dragged his wife from Ceejay House to Sea Link Road before fleeing the scene.

Police Investigation

Mumbai police formed fourteen teams to apprehend Shah. They also arrested Rajrishi Singh Bidawat and Shah’s father, Rajesh Shah, for their alleged involvement. The police confirmed that the luxury car belonged to a political leader from Maharashtra’s Palghar.

Government Response

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed concern over the rise in hit-and-run incidents and directed the police to take strict action. The Shiv Sena removed Rajesh Shah from the party following his arrest.
