Michael Neser Injured Before Border-Gavaskar Trophy

In Melbourne, Australia faced a setback as experienced bowler Michael Neser got injured during the second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A. Neser, known in Australian cricket, hurt his hamstring after a strong performance with the new ball, leaving India A struggling on the first day. He took four wickets, reducing India A to 64/5, but had to leave the field during his 13th over. This injury means Neser can’t bowl in the ongoing match. He had a similar injury last month with Queensland in the Domestic One-Day Cup.

Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sai Sudharsan were dismissed in the first over, followed by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devdutt Padikkal, leading to India A’s total of 161. Neser finished with figures of 4/27 in 12.2 overs before leaving. Despite only two Test appearances for Australia, Neser is respected in domestic cricket. Australia hasn’t announced its squad for the five-Test series starting November 22 in Perth, hoping for Neser’s quick recovery for the ICC World Test Championship series against India.

In 107 First-Class matches, Neser has taken 374 wickets at an average of 24.18. The second unofficial Test continues with Australia A at 53/2, trailing by 108 runs. The teams are:
