Medicines Worth Rs. 49 Lakh Seized at Delhi’s IGI Airport from Passenger to Kazakhstan
On July 19, CISF officers at Delhi’s IGI Airport detected a large quantity of medicines worth Rs. 49 lakh from a passenger named Khabibullave Abdumutalibjon Khotamjon Ugli, who was traveling to Almaty, Kazakhstan. The passenger could not provide supporting documents for the medicines.
Suspicious Behavior Noticed
At around 9 am, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff noticed suspicious activities of the foreign passenger at the check-in area in Terminal 3. The passenger was traveling by Air Asthana flight No. KC-908.
Thorough Checking
After noticing doubtful images in his baggage through the X-BIS machine, the passenger was allowed to complete check-in formalities but was kept under close watch. After clearing the check-in and immigration processes, he was intercepted and brought to the departure customs office.
Upon thorough checking of his baggage in the presence of customs officials, a large quantity of various types of medicines was found. The passenger could not produce documents for carrying such a huge quantity of medicines. He and the medicines were handed over to Customs for further action.
