Mauritius Vice President Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon arrived in New Delhi on Monday to participate in the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave. The event will be held from August 20-22 and aims to serve as an instrument for Africa’s growth and the role of the India-Africa partnership in regional and global value chain integration.

Randhir Jaiswal, the official spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, extended a warm welcome to Boissezon. He stated that the visit marks another significant milestone in the ‘time-tested and enduring ties’ between India and Mauritius.

In a post on X, Jaiswal said, ‘Welcome to India! VP Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon of Mauritius arrives in New Delhi to participate in the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave! The visit marks another significant milestone in the time-tested & enduring India-Mauritius ties.’

India remains the fastest-growing large economy, supported by favorable demographics, improving institutional strength, and enhanced governance. Currently, India is the 5th largest economy with an estimated GDP of USD 3.7 trillion for FY24, according to the Finance Ministry’s January 2024 economic review.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar previously noted that Africa is undergoing rapid changes and is on its way from being the cradle of human civilization to becoming the land of the future. He emphasized that India views Africa as a ‘natural partner’ with trust and mutual respect, focusing on value addition within Africa through production, research, localization, and local employment.
