Maulana Yasoob Abbas Condemns Killing of Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israel
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 29: Maulana Yasoob Abbas, General Secretary of the All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB), has strongly condemned the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israel. In a statement, Maulana Abbas paid tribute to Nasrallah, highlighting his role in protecting the holy shrine of Hazrat Zainab during ISIS attacks.
Maulana Abbas described Nasrallah as a strong Shia-Muslim leader who supported the oppressed people of Palestine against Israeli forces. He expressed deep grief over Nasrallah’s death, calling it a great loss for the Muslim world and held Israeli forces responsible for his killing. He appealed to the Shia community to observe three days of mourning and hoist black flags on their houses.
Maulana Abbas urged the United Nations to pressure Israel to stop its aggression against Palestine and Lebanon. He stressed that Nasrallah’s death was an ‘irreparable loss’ and that the world would remember him as a sympathizer of oppressed people.
Protests in Jammu and Kashmir
Meanwhile, a protest march was held in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, against Nasrallah’s killing. President of JK Anjuman-e-Sharie, Shian Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al Safavi, stated that Nasrallah’s death is a significant loss and that his mission will continue through others.
Israeli Airstrikes
Earlier, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed Nasrallah’s killing in airstrikes in Beirut. The IDF stated that Nasrallah and other Hezbollah commanders were targeted at their headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The IDF also reported the destruction of anti-ship missiles stored by Hezbollah in Beirut.
