Matthew Mott Joins Sydney Sixers as Assistant Coach for Three Years
Matthew Mott has signed a three-year contract with the Sydney Sixers, replacing Cameron White who moved to Melbourne Renegades. Mott, who previously coached England’s men’s white-ball team and the Australia Women’s team, expressed excitement about rejoining the Sixers. He will work alongside Greg Shipperd for the Big Bash League.
Sixers’ general manager, Rachael Haynes, praised Mott’s extensive coaching experience and success. She said, “When the opportunity arises to bring a coach of Motty’s calibre into your ranks, it’s a no-brainer. We know what a fantastic resource he will be for our playing group.”
The Sixers have also retained James Vince and acquired legspinners Jafer Chohan and Akeal Hosein.
