Matheran-Neral Toy Train Resumes After Monsoon Break
The famous Matheran-Neral mini toy train in Raigad, Maharashtra, is back on track after a pause during the monsoon season. This historic train, over 150 years old, travels a scenic 20-kilometer route through the hill station, taking about 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the journey.

Swapnil Nila, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railways, shared that the train was halted on June 8th due to the monsoon and resumed on November 6th. The train features six coaches, including one first-class and four second-class coaches, offering passengers a choice of ticket options at reasonable prices.
Passenger Experience
The train is popular among school children and tourists, providing a unique travel experience to the vehicle-free Matheran area. It transports around 600-700 passengers daily. Passengers have expressed their enjoyment of the scenic views and the fun ride.
Service Schedule
The train operates twice daily from Neral to Matheran from Monday to Friday, with six additional shuttle services from Aman Lodge to Matheran. On weekends, two extra services are added to accommodate more tourists. The route from Aman Lodge to Matheran is restricted to railways, e-rickshaws, and eco-friendly taxis.
