A round table conference was organized by the Marri Channa Reddy Memorial Trust in Hyderabad to discuss the Four Water Concept for water security in Telangana, proposed by the late T. Hanumanth Rao. The event took place at the CESS Auditorium, Nizamia Observatory Campus, and included participation from parliamentarians, legislators, scientists, and concerned citizens.

Marri Shashidhar Reddy urged the Telangana government to reconsider the costly Kodangal Lift Scheme, suggesting the Watershed Development Programme based on the Four Water Concept as a more economical alternative. He highlighted the success of this concept in Gotigaripalli village and Rajasthan, where it enabled the growth of three crops annually.

Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman supported the initiative, suggesting a round table in Delhi to raise national awareness. MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and other experts also praised the concept’s potential benefits. The Four Water Concept focuses on optimizing rainwater, soil moisture, groundwater, and surface water for sustainable development.
