Marcus Rashford Banned from Driving for Speeding in Manchester

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been given a six-month driving ban for speeding in his Rolls-Royce. The 26-year-old England attacker was caught driving at 104 mph on the M60 in Manchester last December. Rashford admitted the offense under the Single Justice Procedure and was fined £1,666, ordered to pay £120 court costs, and a £66 surcharge.

This incident occurred less than three months after Rashford crashed another Rolls-Royce near the Carrington training ground. Fortunately, no ambulance was needed despite the involvement of another vehicle.

Rashford recently missed out on a spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad. He has been a key player for England under former head coach Gareth Southgate, participating in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and the 2021 Euros, where England reached the final.

However, Rashford’s form has declined, with only eight goals and five assists in 42 appearances during the recent Premier League season, his lowest output since the 2016/17 campaign. Despite this, he scored 30 goals across all competitions in 2023 and was named Manchester United’s Player of the Year.

Rashford played in Manchester United’s first pre-season game against Rosenborg, alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and captain Casemiro. Despite the presence of first-team players, United lost the game 1-0.
