In Jalna, Maharashtra, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil announced that his candidates will not participate in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. He urged all candidates to withdraw their nominations, emphasizing that elections should not be fought based on caste. Patil encouraged the Maratha community to vote and avoid attending any candidate’s campaign or meeting.

Patil clarified that they have not endorsed any candidate or political party. Previously, he had conditionally supported candidates who agreed to their demands in writing. He stated that they would support SC-ST candidates and those who commit to their demands on bond paper.

The Maharashtra assembly elections are a significant contest between the Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), and the Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA), which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar).
