Indian shooter Manu Bhaker made history at the Paris Olympics by becoming the first Indian woman in 20 years to reach a shooting final and win two medals in the same event. She won bronze in the women’s air pistol event and another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh.

Dedication to Coach Jaspal Rana

Manu credited her success to her coach, Jaspal Rana, and shared her mantra of focusing on effort rather than results. She said, “I would dedicate a major chunk of the success to my coach, Jaspal sir, because of his planning and everything.”

Mindset and Mantra

After narrowly missing the gold and silver medals, Manu and Sarabjot focused on giving their best in the bronze medal match. Manu revealed her mindset, “If you start thinking about the results, it just diverts your mindset and does not let you perform to your optimum calibre.”

Looking Ahead

Manu aims for a third medal in the upcoming 25m pistol event in August. She remains grounded and committed to her training, hoping to add another medal to India’s tally.
