Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh Shine in Paris Olympics 2024 Shooting Event
Paris [France], July 29: India’s shooting team had a great day at the Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh finished third in the 10 m air pistol mixed team qualification, earning a spot in the bronze medal match. They scored 580-20x points and will compete against South Korea, who scored 579-18x points. The gold medal match will be between Turkiye and Serbia.
Another Indian team, Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema, finished 10th and missed the medal match. In the qualification round, each team member shot 30 times in 30 minutes. The top four teams moved to the medal rounds, with the top two playing for gold and the third and fourth for bronze.
In the first series, Rhythm and Cheema scored 194 points, while Manu and Sarabjot scored 193 points. In the second series, Manu and Sarabjot scored 195 points, and Rhythm and Cheema scored 192 points. In the third series, Manu and Sarabjot scored 192 points, and Rhythm and Cheema scored 190 points. Manu-Sarabjot’s final score was 580-20x, and Rhythm-Cheema’s was 576-14x.
Manu Bhaker also made history by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event, becoming the first Indian woman to win a shooting medal at the Olympics. She scored 221.7 points. South Korea’s Ye Jin won gold with 243.2 points, and Kim Yeji won silver with 241.3 points.
