Manorama Khedkar Released from Jail, Daughter Puja Khedkar Faces Serious Allegations

Manorama Khedkar, the mother of former probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, was released from Yerawada Central Jail on Saturday. She was granted bail by the Pune Court on August 2 in a criminal intimidation case related to a land dispute. Manorama was arrested by Pune rural police last month, and the case was filed at the Paud police station.

In July, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) cancelled the provisional candidature of Puja Khedkar and permanently barred her from all future exams and selections. On Thursday, the Delhi Court dismissed Puja Khedkar’s anticipatory bail plea. The court stated that the allegations against her are grave and serious, requiring thorough investigation. Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala emphasized the need for custodial interrogation to uncover the entire conspiracy and identify other individuals involved.
