Manoj Tiwary Praises Rishabh Pant’s Unique Captaincy Style
Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has praised Rishabh Pant’s unique style of captaincy. Pant made his return to the Indian cricket team during the T20 World Cup 2024, where he played eight matches and scored 171 runs at a strike rate of 127.61. In the second inning, he scored 109 runs from 128 balls, hitting 13 fours and 4 sixes before being dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 56th over.
Tiwary, however, believes that Shubman Gill has a higher chance of becoming the next national team captain. He stated, “The person who is coming up as a leader, that person should only lead the side. Recently, we saw Shubman Gill was given the captaincy in many series. This shows that BCCI is backing him but India have Rishabh Pant as well. Pant has a different style of captaincy. So these people are in contention to lead the team next, out of which Gill has more chances than Pant.”
Pant’s first cricket tournament after his injury was the Indian Premier League 2024, where he played 13 matches and scored 446 runs. He returned to Test cricket in a two-match series against Bangladesh, scoring 109 runs in the second inning.
