At the Paris Paralympics, India’s para-badminton players experienced a mix of emotions. Manisha Ramadass advanced to the quarterfinals in the women’s para-badminton singles SU5 Group Stage C despite a tough loss to China’s Xia Qiu Yang. Manisha lost the match 15-21, 7-21, but her earlier performances secured her a spot in the quarterfinals. She will now focus on refining her strategy for the upcoming rounds.

On the other hand, Tarun Dhillon faced a challenging match against France’s Lucas Mazur in the men’s para-badminton singles SL4 group stage. Despite his efforts, Tarun lost 0-2, ending his journey at the Paris Paralympics.

In other events, Avani Lekhara won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle final, Mona Agarwal bagged bronze in the same event, and Manish Narwal won silver in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 final.

India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent ever to Paris, with 84 athletes across 12 sports. This marks an increase in both participation and medal hopes, as India aims to surpass its previous achievements from Tokyo 2020, where the country won 19 medals, including five golds, eight silvers, and six bronzes.
