New Delhi, August 14: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that his role in the party is determined by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. After discussions with party leaders, it was decided that Sisodia will undertake ‘padayatra’ (foot marches) in every assembly constituency of Delhi.

Sisodia emphasized that he has no desire for any post. He stated, “My role in the party is decided after talking to the party leaders, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal decides it. Right now, after talking to the party leaders, it has been decided that I will go among the people in every street. I will do ‘padayatras.'”

He expressed his commitment to providing facilities to the people of Delhi, including good education, hospitals, and an improved public transport system. To achieve these goals, he believes contesting elections is necessary.

Regarding the Supreme Court’s hearing on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea on August 23, Sisodia expressed confidence in the Constitution and anticipated a favorable decision. He criticized the BJP, claiming their conspiracy to keep him in jail until the Delhi Assembly Polls had failed.

Sisodia also praised Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, for effectively communicating his feelings to the people of Delhi during his imprisonment.

Sisodia was released from Tihar Jail on August 9 after the Supreme Court granted him bail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. The court imposed conditions including surrendering his passport and not influencing witnesses. Sisodia was arrested in February 2023 by the CBI for alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.
