Manipur Violence: DIG CRPF Manish Kumar Sachar Ensures Control, Meghalaya CM Calls for Intervention

On Wednesday, DIG CRPF Manish Kumar Sachar stated that the situation in Manipur is fully under control following fresh violence. He mentioned that the Central Reserve Police Force, Assam Rifles, and Manipur police commandos are deployed at Gamgiphai, the interstate check post border of Kangpokpi district and West Imphal District, to prevent unauthorized entries.

Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya expressed deep concerns over the violence and appealed for peace. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also voiced his concerns, urging the Government of India to intervene and find a political solution to the complex situation involving different communities.

In response to the violence, the state government has suspended internet services until September 15. Manipur Police have appealed to the public to avoid violent protests and spreading fake news, warning of strong legal action against those circulating rumors on social media.
