Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 28: Former BJP MP from Sultanpur, Maneka Gandhi, has filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. She is challenging the election of Samajwadi Party MP Ram Bhuwal Nishad.

In the petition filed by senior advocate Prashant Singh Atal on behalf of Maneka Gandhi, it is stated that Ram Bhuwal Nishad has 12 cases registered against him, but he mentioned only 8 cases in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.

Through her petition, Maneka Gandhi has appealed to cancel the election of SP MP Ram Bhuwal Nishad. SP’s Nishad defeated sitting MP Maneka Gandhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Sultanpur seat by a margin of 43,174 votes.

The Sultanpur Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a triangular fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
