Man Arrested for Murder of Minor Boy in Goa

A man named Chandu Patil, 30, from Maharashtra, was arrested early Monday morning for the murder of a minor boy in Bicholim, Goa. The boy, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was killed by a blunt object, causing multiple head injuries.

Investigation Details

On Sunday night, Bicholim Police received a complaint from a Sanquelim resident about the incident. Forensic teams and a dog squad were dispatched to the scene, and the body was transferred to the Goa Municipal Corporation Morgue. Two police teams were formed to investigate, and the accused was apprehended at Kalyan Railway Station within six hours of the crime.

Separate Case of Girl’s Murder in Vasco

In another case, a five-year-old girl was murdered in the Vasco area of South Goa on April 13. SP South Goa, Sunita Sawant, stated that the girl was sexually assaulted and strangled. The police have detained 15-20 suspects, mostly laborers working in the building where the incident occurred. The case has been registered under sections 376 and 302 of the IPC, the POCSO Act, and the Goa Children Act.
