Man Arrested for Assaulting Young Girl in Delhi’s Bawana
A 50-year-old man named Sabir, from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in Bawana, Delhi. The incident occurred on October 11 in Factory sector-3, Bawana, while the girl’s mother was at work. The young victim shared her ordeal with her mother, who then reported it to the police on October 25.
The police registered a case under section 65 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation was challenging, with only the accused’s name as a clue. For 15 days, police conducted raids in industrial areas of Bawana, Delhi, Noida, Jhansi, Mahoba, and Kanpur. Eventually, they apprehended Sabir in the forest area of Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Sabir worked as a casual laborer in a factory and lived next to the victim. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
