Man Arrested for Assaulting Young Girl in Delhi’s Bawana
A 50-year-old man named Sabir, from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in Bawana, Delhi. The incident occurred on October 11 in Factory sector-3, Bawana, while the girl’s mother was at work. The child told her mother about the incident, leading her to file a complaint with the police on October 25.
The police registered a case under section 65 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation was challenging, with only the accused’s name as a clue. After 15 days of searching in various industrial areas, the police apprehended Sabir in the forest area of Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. Sabir was employed as a casual laborer in the factory and lived near the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
