Mamata Banerjee Meets Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar in Mumbai
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee met with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai. Banerjee was in the city to attend the wedding of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani with Radhika Merchant.
After meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, Banerjee said, “I will definitely come to Maharashtra to campaign for Uddhav Ji during assembly elections.” NCP leader Rohit Pawar mentioned that the discussion was about family and friends, highlighting the long-standing relationship between Banerjee and Sharad Pawar.
Earlier in the day, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also arrived in Mumbai for the wedding. Other notable politicians, including former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav, attended the event.
The wedding, held at the Jio World Centre, featured a theme called ‘An Ode to Varanasi,’ celebrating the city’s traditions, culture, and cuisine. The main ceremonies began on Friday with Shubh Vivah and will continue with Shubh Aashirwad on Saturday and Mangal Utsav on Sunday. The Ambani family had previously hosted a grand Mameru ceremony and a Sangeet Ceremony, which included a performance by global pop star Justin Bieber.
