Mamata Banerjee Celebrates TMC’s Big Win in West Bengal By-Elections

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) won all four seats in the recent West Bengal Assembly by-elections. Three of these seats were previously held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and one was retained by TMC.

Banerjee expressed her gratitude to the voters, saying, “Among the four seats, three were held by the BJP, both in the Lok Sabha and in the Vidhan Sabha. We have won all three and held on to our seat as well. That means four out of four. I express my gratitude to our people for this victory.”

She also criticized the BJP and other agencies for their conspiracies, stating, “Despite all conspiracy, on one hand the BJP and on the other hand the agencies, people have voted for us.”

Banerjee highlighted the victories in specific regions, mentioning Krishna Kalyani’s win in Raiganj, Mukut Mani’s win in Ranaghat, and Madhuparna Thakur’s win in Bagdah. She also noted Supti Pandey’s victory in Maniktala.

On the national level, Banerjee commented that the BJP managed to win only two seats in states where they are in power, indicating a trend against the BJP across India.

She also raised concerns about the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, stating, “…I don’t know what they have done with the Nyay Samhita Bill. Even doctors are afraid, journalists know how their life is in danger because of this Bill, freedom is at stake. Without any evidence, anyone can be victim of this Bill.”

Banerjee urged the central government to review the Bill and mentioned that resolutions against NEET and the Nyay Sanhita Bill would be passed when the Assembly commences.
