Mallikarjun Kharge Criticizes BJP Government in Haryana Ahead of Elections
New Delhi, India – As the assembly elections in Haryana approach, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has taken a jab at the BJP-led Haryana Government. In a satirical video shared on his social media handle, Kharge accused the state government of being inactive for the past 10 years.
Kharge’s video highlighted several issues such as unemployment, inflation, kidnapping, murder, crime, and the lack of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers. The video depicted the public, especially the youth, trying to wake up the ‘sleeping’ government. Kharge wrote, ‘The BJP government in Haryana has been sleeping for 10 years. Now we will get relief from inflation, unemployment, farmer oppression, and crime…! Bring Congress, save Haryana!’
In the video, individuals urged the government to wake up, stating, ‘Get up; unemployment and inflation are increasing with the speed of a rocket. Haryana has become number 1 in kidnapping, murder, and ransom; it’s time to wake up. Farmers didn’t get MSP; rather, they got the ‘black laws.’ This is Haryana’s 10-year-old government, which will keep sleeping, but you (the public) need to wake up. Congress Lao, Haryana Bachao!’
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticized the BJP’s manifesto for the Haryana Assembly polls, calling it a ‘copy-paste’ of their own. Hooda claimed that the BJP made false promises and did nothing from 2014 to 2019.
The Congress has announced seven guarantees for the Haryana assembly polls, including the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, two lakh jobs, a caste survey, 300 units of free power, and free medical treatment up to Rs 25 lakh. Kharge stated that these guarantees pertain to women, social security, youth, the poor, and farmers.
The Congress promises Rs 2000 per month to women above 18, gas cylinders at Rs 500, and increased pensions for the elderly, disabled, and widows. They also promise a drug-free Haryana, legal guarantees for MSP, immediate compensation for crop loss, affordable housing for the poor, and a caste survey with an increased creamy layer limit to Rs 10 lakh.
Kharge expressed confidence that Congress will win the Haryana polls scheduled for October 5. Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, with votes counted on October 8 along with those in Jammu and Kashmir.
