Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu is set to visit India starting October 7. This will be his first standalone bilateral visit to India since he took office last year. This visit will be Muizzu’s second trip to India this year, following his attendance at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in June. Traditionally, Maldivian presidents have made India their first foreign visit, but Muizzu initially visited Turkiye and China after assuming office.
