Engagement with Maldivian Community in New Delhi
On Sunday, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed met with the Maldivian community in New Delhi. They discussed the community’s well-being, listened to their concerns, and promised to address their issues.
Meeting with Indian Officials
Earlier, President Muizzu met with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. They talked about strengthening ties between the two countries and reviewed ongoing projects supported by India. Key areas of focus included affordable housing, healthcare, tourism, and expanding fisheries and agriculture in the Maldives.
Official Visit Details
President Muizzu’s visit to India, from October 6-10, is his first bilateral visit to the country. He was invited by President Droupadi Murmu and will meet with her, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other officials. This visit follows his attendance at Prime Minister Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in June.
