Mahua Maji Criticizes BJP, Praises CM Hemant Soren’s Efforts for Women in Jharkhand
In Ranchi, Jharkhand, Mahua Maji, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for neglecting the women of Jharkhand. She highlighted that during the BJP’s rule, there were many cases of women trafficking. Maji praised Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his efforts in rescuing these women and providing them with job opportunities.
Maji explained that during the BJP’s tenure, trafficking was rampant, with many placement agencies in rural areas like Gumla, Simdega, and Khunti. These agencies lured women with false job promises and exploited them in other states. She credited CM Soren for bringing these women back and initiating programs to connect them with jobs and provide loans for self-reliance.
She also mentioned the state’s efforts to improve educational facilities for women, including sending them to prestigious institutions abroad. The Maiya Samman Yojana, introduced by CM Soren, aims to support women and prevent trafficking. The scheme’s financial support will increase from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 in December, helping women develop skills and secure dignified employment.
