Maharashtra’s New Budget: Gifts for Women, Farmers, and More
Presented by CM Eknath Shinde and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar
Deputy Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the new state budget, calling it a source of happiness for all sections of society. He highlighted several key benefits:
- Women aged 21-60 will receive Rs 1,500 monthly under the ‘Mukhyanantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme.
- Farmers will get free electricity and a Rs 5,000 per hectare bonus for cotton and soybean crops.
- Milk-producing farmers will receive a Rs 5 per litre bonus.
- Households will get three free gas cylinders per year.
- Compensation for deaths due to animal attacks has increased to Rs 25 lakh.
The budget was presented by Finance Minister Ajit Pawar during the Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Assembly, which will continue until July 12.
