In Mumbai, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the media regarding the political dynamics involving Raj Thackeray, the Chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Fadnavis clarified that while Thackeray is considered a friend, his decision to field multiple candidates in the upcoming assembly elections means he will not be joining the Mahayuti alliance, which includes BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP, and other smaller parties.
Fadnavis highlighted that Thackeray had supported the BJP in the previous Lok Sabha elections but has taken a different stance this time. He emphasized that the Mahayuti alliance remains strong and is confident of forming the government, with the Chief Minister coming from their coalition.
Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized Raj Thackeray for his recent praise of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, suggesting it was due to concerns over his son's political future. Raut accused BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, Narendra Modi, and Devendra Fadnavis, of stealing their party's identity and values, and warned of a conspiracy involving Thackeray.
The Maharashtra Assembly election is scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23.
