Maharashtra Police Arrests Three for Kidnapping and Raping Minor Girl

Washim, Maharashtra: The police have arrested three individuals for the kidnapping and rape of a 13-year-old girl. Washim Superintendent of Police Anuj Tare stated, “On August 21, an FIR was lodged that a girl aged 13 had been kidnapped. On August 22 we found the girl. Based on her statement and medical examination, it was found that she was raped. All the three names that she had given, have been arrested.”

Badlapur Sexual Assault Case

In another case, Maharashtra’s Kalyan Court has sent an accused to judicial custody for 14 days. The accused was previously in police custody. On August 23, a special investigation team (SIT) registered an FIR against the school authorities for not complying with Section 19 of the POCSO Act, which mandates reporting sexual assaults against minors to the police. The incident involved the alleged sexual assault of two fourth-grade girls at a school in Badlapur. The school authorities have been booked under Section 21 of the POCSO Act for failing to inform the police.
