Maharashtra Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan Speaks on Baba Siddique’s Murder
In Nagpur, Maharashtra, Pyare Khan, the Chairman of the Maharashtra Minority Commission, expressed his concerns over the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, calling it unfortunate for the state. He urged minority communities and Bollywood to seek government assistance if they face threats, assuring them of the Maharashtra Police’s capability to handle such situations.
Khan stated, “The murder of Baba Siddique is unfortunate for Maharashtra. It is being said that whoever will support or be in contact with Actor Salman Khan, would meet the same fate. All the minority communities and people from Bollywood please contact the administration if you receive any such threats. I want to ensure them that the government is with them…if you look into the history of Maharashtra, you can see how the police ended the gang wars in Maharashtra…Maharashtra Police is efficient in teaching a lesson to such miscreants.”
Arrests and Investigations
Earlier, Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Pravin Lonkar from Pune in connection with Siddique’s murder. Pravin is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar, who claimed on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the murder. Shubuu Lonkar is currently absconding. Police revealed that Pravin Lonkar provided shelter to the accused in Pune.
Additionally, an ossification test was conducted on Dharmaraj Kashyap, another accused, confirming he is not a minor. Following this, Kashyap was presented in court, which granted police custody until October 21. The court ordered the test after Kashyap’s lawyer claimed he was a minor.
The arrested accused, Pravin Lonkar, is implicated in the conspiracy along with his brother Shubham Lonkar. They allegedly recruited Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam to execute the murder plot. Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar, and his last rites were performed with full state honors in Mumbai.
