Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar Files Nomination for Sawantwadi Assembly Elections
Deepak Kesarkar, the Maharashtra School Education and Marathi Language Minister, has filed his nomination for the upcoming assembly elections from the Sawantwadi constituency. Kesarkar, a member of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, has been elected from this constituency in 2009, 2014, and 2019.
Kesarkar highlighted the progress in Maharashtra’s infrastructure and industries, attributing it to the Mahayuti alliance. He mentioned benefits like insurance for farmers and financial support for women, emphasizing the alliance’s role in these advancements.
Addressing the seat-sharing discussions within Mahayuti, Kesarkar noted that delays are natural in alliances but assured there are no rebels in their party. He conducted a roadshow with BJP leader Narayan Rane before filing his nomination.
Kesarkar expressed gratitude to his voters, stating that his nomination is for their welfare. He is confident in Mahayuti’s ability to form the government and boost tourism in Sindhudurg, near his constituency.
During his tenure, Kesarkar has focused on development in Sawantwadi, resolving issues related to electricity and roads. He aims to create employment through local resource projects and initiatives for women, such as providing livestock and processing units for local products.
Kesarkar also resolved a long-standing revenue issue, securing Rs 60 crores in compensation for farmers. He restarted a hotel project pending for 25 years, marking the first five-star hotel in the district.
