Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 26: Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan visited the Radha Ras Bihari Temple of ISKCON at Juhu in Mumbai on Janmashtami. The Governor performed the aarti of Lord Krishna and had the darshan of all deities. Present at the event were President of Juhu ISKCON Brajhari Das, Zonal Secretary Devki Nandan Das, Director of Bhakti Vedant Institute Rasraj Das, and Vice President Mukund Madhav Das.

Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings on Janmashtami, urging everyone to follow Lord Krishna’s teachings and work for the nation’s progress. She posted on X, “I greet all my countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. This festival inspires us to be dedicated to the divine ideals of Lord Shri Krishna. On this occasion, let us imbibe the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna and pledge to work for the progress and prosperity of the country.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished everyone a Happy Janmashtami, writing on X, “Wishing you all a very Happy Janmashtami. Jai Shri Krishna!” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extended his wishes as well, posting, “Hearty wishes and congratulations to everyone on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. I hope that this festival of joy and happiness fills the life of all of you with new enthusiasm and excitement.”

Devotees across the country celebrated Lord Krishna’s birthday with great enthusiasm. Temples were decorated with colorful lights and flowers, and the sound of bells, mridangs, and conch shells echoed across the nation. In Ahmedabad, devotees gathered in large numbers at the ISKCON Temple for the Darshan of Lord Krishna. In Mathura, morning aarti was performed at the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple, where women devotees joyfully chanted songs dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated on August 26 this year. Devotees traditionally fast and decorate temples and homes with flowers, diyas, and lights.
