Maharashtra Elections: Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar Address Rebel Candidates
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence in resolving issues with rebel candidates, stating that they are part of the party and efforts are being made to make them understand the larger interest of the party. He acknowledged that every party faces such challenges and is working to convince rebels to withdraw their nominations.
The issue of rebel candidates is also affecting the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, particularly with Nawab Malik’s candidacy in Mankurd being opposed by the alliance, which supports Suresh Patil. Ajit Pawar mentioned that by November 4, the candidate list will be finalized.
Mumbai BJP Chief Ashish Shelar criticized Ajit Pawar for giving a ticket to Nawab Malik, citing serious allegations against him. Shelar emphasized that the BJP will not support Malik and will back the opposing candidate.
Despite opposition, Malik remains confident of winning. Both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi are preparing for the upcoming elections on November 20, with results on November 23. In previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena have been significant contenders.
