Maharashtra Elections: BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP Join Forces
Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and the NCP will collaborate for the upcoming elections. During a swearing-in ceremony for seven new members, Bawankule highlighted the implementation of the model code of conduct. He stated, “Mahayuti is fully prepared for the elections. We will present our manifesto to the people soon.”
Bawankule emphasized the benefits of a “double-engine government” with PM Modi’s leadership, warning that votes for Congress could hinder development. He urged a respectful campaign, focusing on party ideologies rather than personal attacks.
At the ceremony, seven members, including Hemant Patil and Manisha Kayande from Shiv Sena, and Babushrik Maharaj from BJP, took their oaths. Bawankule mentioned that five more seats will be filled soon through mutual agreement among the parties.
He stressed the need for public support, promising continued development and schemes like the Chief Minister’s Majila scheme and electricity bill waivers for farmers. Bawankule expressed confidence that the public understands the importance of their coalition over Congress or Maha Vikas Aghadi.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat confirmed that elections will proceed, despite delays, and that seat-sharing talks will conclude soon.
