Maharashtra Deputy CM Fadnavis Accuses Opposition of Fake Narratives
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has accused the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi, of creating fake stories. He also blamed them for most of the paper leaks that happened when Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister.
Press Conference Before Monsoon Session
Before the monsoon session of the Maharashtra legislature, the BJP-led Mahayuti government held a press conference. Fadnavis said, “After getting some votes by creating fake narratives, I feel that the opposition has now got into the mindset of telling lies. We will expose this factory, which creates fake narratives, in the upcoming assembly session.”
Opposition Boycotts CM Shinde’s Tea Party
The opposition boycotted Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s tea party, accusing the government of not addressing important issues like those of farmers. CM Shinde responded, “The opposition does not want to have a discussion. This was the last session therefore we had thought that they (opposition) would come…They are only interested in drama…”
Monsoon Session Details
The monsoon session of the Maharashtra legislature will be held from June 27 to July 12. This decision was made during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai.
Discussions on Paper Leaks and Drug Issues
Nationalist Congress Party leader Rohit Pawar met with Governor Ramesh Bais to discuss the need for a law to stop paper leaks, similar to one adopted by the central government. Pawar also raised concerns about drug issues at Pune University. Fadnavis responded, “We have started a fight against the drugs, the Pune Porsche incident was unfortunate, the state government has taken a tough stand.”
