Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 29: Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has challenged Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to reveal the truth regarding allegations made by former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Deshmukh claimed that Fadnavis asked him to falsely implicate Uddhav and Aaditya Thackeray.

Deshmukh, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2021 for an alleged money laundering case, stated that he faced pressure to make false allegations against Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. Patole questioned Fadnavis’s intentions, asking if he was trying to intimidate his opponents during the election.

Patole urged Fadnavis to take action against Deshmukh if he is indeed guilty. He emphasized the need for clarity in the state, stating, “If you have the guts, then put the truth in front of the people. If the accused is Anil Deshmukh, then take action against him.”

Earlier, Deshmukh accused Fadnavis of asking him to sign affidavits against Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Ajit Pawar, and Anil Parab. Deshmukh claimed that he was pressured to make false allegations and that the ED and CBI were sent after him when he refused.

Fadnavis denied these allegations, stating that the FIR against Deshmukh was registered by the CBI following orders from the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. He mentioned that Deshmukh had been making personal allegations against him for a long time and warned that he would not spare anyone making such claims.

Fadnavis also revealed that he has audio and video recordings provided by Deshmukh’s party members, which he plans to release when the time is right.
