Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole Urges Removal of DGP Rashmi Shukla

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has written to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, requesting the removal of Maharashtra’s Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Shukla. Patole accuses Shukla of bias against opposition parties like Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP(SP). He claims that political violence against opposition leaders has increased in the past 20 days.

The letter, dated October 31, references previous requests for Shukla’s removal, citing her history of illegal phone tapping and bias. Patole argues that while the DGP of Jharkhand was removed after the Model Code of Conduct was enforced, Shukla was not. He alleges that Shukla instructed police officials to file false cases against opposition leaders.

The Congress demands Shukla’s immediate dismissal to ensure fair elections, warning of potential court action if their request is ignored.
