On Ananta Chaturdashi, the last day of the ten-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Sindhe, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Governor CP Radhakrishnan took part in the ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ at Girgaon Chowpatty in Mumbai.

CM Eknath Sindhe extended his wishes to the people, noting the vibrant atmosphere and the presence of nearly 12 lakh people at the event. He highlighted that Ganeshotsav is the biggest festival in Maharashtra, celebrated by people regardless of their social status.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, along with his family, performed ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ at his residence. He expressed hope that people celebrated the festival with enthusiasm and that the immersion would be conducted while maintaining law and order.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also participated in the Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai, emphasizing the enthusiasm with which the festival is celebrated across the state, especially in Mumbai.

Celebrations Across India

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his wife celebrated Ganesh Visarjan in Bhopal, wishing blessings from Lord Ganesha for everyone. In Hyderabad, the visarjan of the 70-foot tall idol of Lord Ganesh from Khairatabad was completed in the Hussain Sagar Lake.

The Ganesh Chaturthi festival, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi, commenced on September 7 and concluded on Ananta Chaturdashi. During this festival, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate Lord Ganesha’s wisdom and intelligence with elaborate decorations, prayers, music, and festive chants.
