Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde’s Big Plans for Pollution, Farmers, and Youth

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Pune and offered prayers to Saint Dnyaneshwar. He announced that the municipal corporation has been given Rs 800 crores to combat pollution in the city.

Empowering Women, Youth, and Farmers

CM Shinde described the state budget as ‘revolutionary,’ with schemes worth Rs 1 lakh crore aimed at empowering women, youth, and farmers. The budget includes:

  • Free vocational education for girls
  • Free electricity for farmers
  • Financial assistance for cotton and soybean growers
  • Training for 50,000 youth annually

Infrastructure and Cultural Preservation

The budget also focuses on infrastructure projects like Metro routes in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, and road construction under the Chief Minister Gram Sadak scheme. Additionally, it aims to preserve Maharashtra’s culture by celebrating Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation and recommending the Pandharpur pilgrimage for UNESCO World Heritage status.

Additional Budget for 2024-25

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the additional budget for 2024-25, emphasizing development and cultural preservation. The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly began on June 28 and will continue until July 12.
