Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Supports Shaina NC in Mumbadevi Election Campaign
Mumbai, Maharashtra: On Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde campaigned for Shaina NC, the party's candidate from the Mumbadevi seat, as the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024 campaign concluded. Shaina NC expressed gratitude to supporters and emphasized their commitment to public welfare. She stated, "We will work for the service of people," and highlighted CM Shinde's promise to oversee Mumbadevi's redevelopment.
Shaina NC, previously a BJP spokesperson, joined Shiv Sena after being fielded by Eknath Shinde's party. She is contesting against Congress MLA Amin Patel, who has held the Mumbadevi seat since 2009. The Maharashtra assembly elections are set for November 20, with results for all 288 constituencies to be announced on November 23.
The opposition MVA coalition, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), aims to regain power, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
