Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray Ahead of Assembly Polls
As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has accused Uddhav Thackeray of causing a split in the Shiv Sena party. Shinde claims that Thackeray’s alliance with Congress was against the ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray, the party’s founder. Shinde believes that the Shiv Sena and BJP alliance is the right path forward.
Shinde explained that the previous Mahavikas Aghadi government, which he was part of, did not align with Balasaheb’s principles. He stated that Uddhav Thackeray’s personal interests led to the Congress alliance, which Balasaheb would not have supported. Shinde emphasized that the Shiv Sena workers followed party discipline and sought change by forming a coalition with the BJP.
Highlighting the achievements of the current Mahayuti government, Shinde expressed pride in prioritizing people’s interests over personal gains. He noted that Maharashtra has excelled in GDP, FDI, GST, and cleanliness under their regime, attracting investments of over Rs 5 lakh crore.
Shinde also addressed opposition claims that his government is a puppet of the central government. He stated that the double-engine government has brought numerous benefits to Maharashtra, with appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
In a critique of the previous MVA regime, Shinde emphasized that being a Chief Minister means serving the people, not just running the government through social media. He highlighted the government’s focus on farmers, allocating Rs 15,000 crores for their support.
The Maharashtra Assembly election is scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23.
