Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Criticizes Former MVA Government at Dussehra Rally

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, led by Uddhav Thackeray, during a Dussehra rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Shinde claimed that Maharashtra would have lagged if the MVA government had not been removed. He highlighted the stability of his administration, which has completed two years despite predictions of its collapse.

Shinde, who led a rebellion that toppled the MVA government with BJP’s support, also discussed the revival of the Dharavi redevelopment project, promising good homes to its residents. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting classical language status to Marathi and acknowledged the ‘Ladli Didi’ scheme.

Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, announced plans to build temples dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in every district of Maharashtra. He accused the current government of exploiting Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy for political gains, referencing the collapse of a statue of Shivaji Maharaj in Sindhudurg district.

The two Shiv Sena factions, led by Shinde and Thackeray, held separate rallies to showcase their strength ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The elections will see a contest between the MVA alliance and the Maha Yuti Alliance.
