Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Announces More Help for Women with Ladli Behen Yojana

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 16: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Friday that the state government will provide more financial assistance to women under various schemes to make them more independent and self-reliant.

Financial Assistance for Women

Addressing media persons, CM Shinde said, “Money is being deposited in the accounts of the women under the CM Ladki Bahin Yojana, and therefore they tied Rakhi to me today. I thank them. Today they have arrived in large numbers here, I only want to say that we will not only give them Rs 1500, we will make them independent, we will make them self-reliant.”

Under the vision of PM Modi to make women more self-reliant, self-independent, and self-respected, the government will provide more financial assistance through various schemes.

Ladli Behen Yojana

Earlier, on August 11, CM Shinde said that the Ladli Behen Yojana has shaken the ground beneath the feet of opposition leaders. He assured that this is not a temporary scheme and will continue indefinitely, benefiting women aged between 21-65 with less than an annual income of Rs 2.5 lakh.

Additional Initiatives

CM Shinde also highlighted initiatives for elderly women, such as the “Vay Shree” scheme, which will benefit women above the age of 65. Additionally, women have been given a 50% concession for travel on state roadways buses.

Advice to Women

Shinde concluded by advising Maharashtra’s “Ladli Behnas” (beloved sisters) to be cautious of their “step-brothers.” He added, “When money is credited to women’s accounts under the Ladli Behen scheme, the opposition will grow more anxious and be ready to pack their bags and flee.”
