Mahakumbh 2025: Ensuring Safety with High-Tech Security
The Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is set to be a grand event with extensive safety measures in place. The Uttar Pradesh government is deploying 220 skilled divers from the National and State Disaster Response Forces to secure the Sangam waters. These divers, along with 700 boats, will be on high alert 24/7 to ensure the safety of devotees during the sacred bathing rituals.
Collaborative Efforts for Safety
Top Water Police personnel from Goa, Kolkata, and Maharashtra will join forces in Prayagraj. This marks the first time such a large number of high-tech divers will be stationed for the event. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, comprehensive security measures are being implemented for millions of devotees arriving from India and abroad.
Local Participation and Training
Janardan Prasad Sahni, Water Police In-Charge, stated that 220 divers, including 180 from various regions and 39 local, will ensure round-the-clock water safety. Local boatmen skilled in deep navigation are also contributing. Additionally, 10 PAC companies, 12 NDRF teams, and 6 SDRF units are being deployed.
Over 200 local individuals are being trained by the Water Police to assist in safeguarding pilgrims. The Yogi government is committed to providing a secure and peaceful experience for all attendees. The Mahakumbh begins with the Paush Purnima Snan on January 13, 2025, and concludes on February 26, 2025, with Mahashivratri.
