Maha Vikas Aghadi Plans Big Rally on August 16 for Maharashtra Assembly Polls
Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar announced that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will hold a rally on August 16 at Shanmukhananda Hall in preparation for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The MVA, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP, is working on their manifesto under the leadership of former CM Prithviraj Chavan.
In a recent meeting, leaders from all three parties discussed their manifesto, strategy, and future plans. Key leaders, including Uddhav Thackeray and Rahul Gandhi, have been meeting to discuss strategies. Uddhav Thackeray, along with his son Aditya Thackeray, met Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and Congress MP KC Venugopal were also present.
Additionally, NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar met Uddhav Thackeray at Sanjay Raut’s residence. The MVA parties are gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, with Congress holding a state leaders’ meeting on August 4. The state is expected to go to polls later this year, although the Election Commission has yet to announce the dates.
In the previous elections, the BJP’s seat count dropped to nine from 23, while Congress improved to 13 seats. Shiv Sena and NCP won seven and one seats respectively, bringing the NDA’s total to 17. Shiv Sena (UBT) secured nine seats, and NCP – Sharadchandra Pawar won eight seats.
