Madhya Pradesh’s Big Budget: Finance Minister Jagdish Devda Proposes Rs 3.65 Lakh Crore for 2024-25

On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Jagdish Devda, presented the state budget for the financial year 2024-25. The budget totals Rs 3.65 lakh crore, with Rs 1081 crore allocated to the Culture Department. This includes funding for the Ram Path Gaman and Krishna Pathey Yojana projects.

Increased Budget for Culture

Finance Minister Devda highlighted that the budget for the Culture Department is two and a half times more than the previous year’s budget. He emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting cultural groups that have showcased their art both nationally and internationally.

Veer Bharat Trust and Museum

Devda announced the establishment of the Veer Bharat Trust, which will create a museum dedicated to the great heroes of India. This will be the first museum of its kind in the country and the world, aiming to preserve the contributions of India’s protectors.

Ram Path Gaman and Krishna Pathey Yojana

The state government plans to identify and develop various places associated with Lord Ram’s travels during his exile under the Ram Path Gaman project. Similarly, the Krishna Pathey Yojana will explore and promote the literature, culture, and traditions related to Shri Krishna’s path in the state.

Preservation of Ancient Temples

Under the Chief Minister Tirtha Darshan Yojana, 7,80,765 senior citizens were provided free travel to religious places. A budget of Rs 50 crore is proposed for this scheme in the upcoming fiscal year.

Chief Minister’s Address

After the budget presentation, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed the media, highlighting the importance of the Ram Path Gaman and Krishna Pathey Yojana projects. He noted that the budget aims to transform religious places into pilgrimage spots.

Yadav also mentioned that this is the first budget of the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government and that they aim to double the state budget in the next five years.
