Madhya Pradesh SP President Manoj Yadav Demands Justice for Barodiya Nainagir Victim Family
On Thursday, Madhya Pradesh Samajwadi Party (SP) president Manoj Yadav accused former minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Bhupendra Singh of threatening the family members of the victims in the Barodiya Nainagir murder case. Yadav demanded action against Singh and expressed disappointment that the family has not received any compensation or a CBI investigation despite assurances from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Yadav stated, “We all know about the incident in Barodiya Nainagir village in Sagar district. Three family members were killed one by one. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had visited the family and assured them of justice. But till now, the family has neither received any compensation nor has the case been investigated by the CBI.”
On Wednesday, a delegation including Samajwadi Party leaders met the family, where the victim’s mother expressed her grief, stating that only one son was left in the family. Yadav claimed that Additional SP Sanjeev Kumar suggested a compromise, threatening that the remaining son would also be killed otherwise.
Yadav criticized the law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh and urged the Chief Minister to provide justice to the family. He demanded a CBI investigation, compensation of Rs 1 crore, and a job and housing for the family.
The main accused, Ankit Thakur, a relative of former Home Minister and current BJP MLA Bhupendra Singh, is still absconding, and no FIR has been registered against him. Other accused, who are BJP office-bearers, are in jail, but one has been granted bail. Yadav demanded that Bhupendra Singh be made an accused in the case, citing a video where Singh was seen threatening the victim’s family.
The case began five years ago when a Dalit girl was molested. Her fight for justice led to the deaths of three family members. The girl, who filed the molestation complaint in January 2019, died on May 26 after allegedly falling from a hearse carrying her uncle’s body, who was beaten to death on May 25. The girl and her uncle were eyewitnesses to her brother’s death on August 24 of the previous year.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lokesh Sinha confirmed that a case was registered under IPC section 302 and an investigation was underway.
