In Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, police have successfully dismantled a counterfeit currency operation, arresting three individuals involved in the scheme. The accused were reportedly creating fake currency notes using chemicals and enticing people with promises of multiplying their money tenfold. This fraudulent activity came to light when a young man named Salman Khan was deceived into giving Rs 20,000 with the expectation of receiving Rs 2 lakh in return. When the promised money was not delivered, Khan reported the incident to the Cantt Police Station on October 15.

Details of the Incident

Guna’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Man Singh Thakur, explained that Salman Khan met the three men, who are residents of Ujjain, near Nanakhedi Mandi. They promised Khan Rs 1 lakh in exchange for Rs 10,000. Tempted by this offer, Khan handed over Rs 20,000. However, the accused failed to deliver the fake notes and fled the scene.

Police Action

Following Khan’s complaint, the police registered a case of forgery and arrested the suspects. The police also recovered the Rs 20,000 from the accused and seized the materials used for producing the counterfeit currency. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the suspects have committed similar frauds in the past.
